Sarafina Nyawira is a born again Christian, and a #KidsMin Leader. On a journey to build a strong personal brand of impact, she is highly inspired by women such as Catriona Gray, Deshauna Barber, Vanessa Lau, and Dae Jang Geum.
She is a #GirlInMarketing with 6 yrs experience, specialized to entrepreneurship in the Digital Marketing Space, and the founder of Digital Mtandaoni, an Edtech Platform that shares resources to help social media managers better navigate the challenges of working in the industry, especially in the Kenyan Market. Digital Mtandaoni’s vision is to educate and enlighten aspiring social media managers on how to start and successfully scale up their careers in the industry. She also offers digital marketing services to brands in Venture Capital & Private Equity, Investment, and Finance Sectors in Africa.
She is also a content creator, running a successful blog called Sera Inspire where she shares inspirational content, a YouTube Channel that supports the vision of Digital Mtandaoni, and is also host on a series of X Spaces dubbed “Let’s Talk VC Africa“, where she interviews VC Bigwigs and Startup Founders, bringing to light their unique experiences in the African Ecosystem.
Her knowledge of things Tech nurtured from a very young age, Sarafina has a strong background in Information Technology, and has received accolade upon accolade for her outstanding skills as a Lady in Tech. She was awarded Best Student for her undergrad BBIT degree in 2021, Best Female Student at eMobilis Coding School in 2017, and has also served as the brand ambassador (Kenya) to AGCCI (2019 – 2023). She has been featured in notable news sites and tech blogs such as The Standard, and African Women in Tech.
With a burning passion for leadership, she won her first pageant in campus, earning her the title Miss PAC University 2018/19, a role that largely saw her take up numerous leadership initiatives within the one year tenure in office. While still in campus, she also served in the Christian Union as Head of Children’s Ministry. She is currently serving as Alumni Year Rep (Class of 2015) under the Kenya High School Alumni Society.
During her free time, she loves to talk to, mentor and inspire young girls and women to go after the lives of their dreams. As a Girl Mentor and Speaker, she has made it her life’s goal to uplift, encourage, inspire and influence women around her. A survivor of teen depression and suicidal attempts, she heavily leans towards mentoring ladies in high school and early years of campus life to help them fight through challenges and fears in their teenhood.
She also loves being in spaces where she can give back to the community by sharing on her love and passion for the digital space. She has worked along powerhouses like Janet Machuka and Egline Samoei through Africa Tweet Chat Community. She also acts as Lead Social Media Mentor to the Kenya High School Alumnae Society, providing guidance and support to students at The Kenya High School during annual career days. She has also been involved in speaking engagements to young ladies in campuses like Daystar through initiatives like Daystar Compassion and Care Center (DC3), under their Woman of Worth (WOW) Program, that inspires and celebrates young ladies and women.
She thoroughly enjoys spending quality time with family, friends and loved ones, loves adrenaline rush activities, and is an avid reader of material that touches on Leadership, Self Awareness / Personal Development, Business, Fashion, Digital Trends, VC Trends, Personal Branding, Finance, Careers, Children, Networking and Relationships Building.
She is currently working on reviving her #KidsMin Initiative (Child for Christ Org), polishing up her violin playing skills, and plans on becoming a published author soon. Last but not least, she is a huge Barbie fan!
